The Durutti Column "A Paean to Wilson / Heaven Sent" CD
This arrived today. Not had a chance to listen to it yet, but if it's as good as it sounded live this summer at the Manchester International Festival I won't be disappointed.

You wait years and years for a Durutti Column box set...
and then two turn up at once!
I've just ordered The Durutti Column 2001-2009 - a new 1000 copy limited edition 6CD box set that was released by Artful/Fullfill on 2 November 2009. The second Durutti Column box set of the year, this comprises all of The Durutti Column's recorded output for the label since 2001, namely:

Love In The Time of Recession [2009]Rounding off the package there's a bonus disc of exclusive bonus tracks. A set of art prints of the individual album covers completes the package.

I've also ordered the CD of "Paean to Wilson" - the piece written for and premiered at this summer's Manchester International Festival and dedicated to the late Tony Wilson of Factory Records fame. The CD isn't out "officially" until next February, but can be had now from the official Durutti Column site... Can't find a cover picture for that one, I'm afraid.

Look what Mr Postie brought today...
This is a very nice package. Also included are large card inserts with high-quality reproductions of the original album artwork and interviews with those involved in the original recordings (including some very frank comments from Vini Reilly about his dislike of a couple of the albums!).
I've not had a chance to listen to the remastered CDs yet, but will report back!
